Trend: Cool Pantsuits & Jacket + Styling Tips

If someone had told me a year ago that I would totally go into pantsuits aka two-piece suits, I would have laughed heartily and said: Never, I’m self-employed and happy every morning when I can just pull what I want on the closet . Without having to fulfill a certain dress code or business cliche. And now? Yes, now I am writing this trend report in which I would like to tell you about a great autumn & winter trend 2017 that has really won my heart. I’m talking about cool and casual pantsuits that found their way out of the office and up into the streets.

Funnily enough, I had a green velvet model last year (see above), but it stayed that way. At the moment, however, I could order every second pants suit in the online shops. My favorites are still the velvet models, but also the super cool checkered versions – preferably in the gray / white combination. So cool! Since I can imagine that some may still be just as skeptical as I was a year ago, there are my top 3 styling tips for pant suits for you in addition to the most beautiful two-pieces for shopping. What do you say about the trend?

Styling tips for a pants suit

The cut makes it

As is so often the case, a lot depends on the right cut. It is the same with pantsuits! If you prefer classic, you should use blazers that are cut short and tailored. The matching pants shape is straight here and goes to the floor, so that the pants leg is flush with the floor. If you like it a bit more modern, you are currently spoiled for choice: from oversize cuts, double-breasted dresses, long blazer variants paired with culottes, or cropped cuts, pretty much everything is possible at the moment. So dare 🙂

A change in style can work miracles

The classic shoes for pantsuits are ballerinas, pumps and lace-up shoes. They always go, of course. Anyone who wants to “dance out of line” simply combines sneakers with a two-piece. It looks cooler and more casual. Another tip: just try a long blouse instead of a normal, short blouse, or wear a longer vest under the blazer. A pant suit can also be worn as a layering style.

The right accessories loosen up

My personal insider tip for pretty much all styles: accessories! Special bags, beautiful jewelry, belts etc. – all of these can loosen up the trousers suit, which often looks very serious, and make it more suitable for everyday use. My order went out yesterday, so hopefully you can look forward to my first real pantsuit outfit post soon.

Fashion trend bomber jacket

I can no longer remember exactly when the bomber jacket trend re-conquered the fashion markets, but what I still remember fairly well is my first bomber jacket: a khaki-colored model from Forever21 – then shot and hot and for an appel and egg in the sale dearly loved. The “bomber jacket entry-level model” of mine still hangs in my closet today, is still worn with pleasure and has now got some successors.

I will show you the last new addition today and at the same time celebrate a small color premiere: purple – or rather lilac. A color that I have honestly made a wide circle of for years. When I was 14 I had a dark purple turtleneck sweater that I had on exactly once. Somehow, purple was never my color. Until now! When I discovered this lilac-colored bomber jacket, my head said: it could not be bad, because the purple goes in the pastel direction and therefore fits perfectly with my style and in my wardrobe.

Styling tips

Style bomber jackets in everyday life:

Bomber jackets for the daily look? Absolutely. If you want to be on the safe side here, style your bomber jacket casually and loosely with cool jeans, a basic shirt and flat shoes. Matching accessories such as handbag and jewelry – the everyday look with a bomber jacket is ready. My look would look like this, for example:
