Summer shoe trends 2020: May meant us pretty well weather-wise! And suddenly it’s time for clothes and sandals again. I have already bought a new model from Alexander McQueen and to match it I have noticed some new shoe trends that set the tone this summer. Which are they and which ones particularly attracted me?
Shoe trends 2020: Chunky Leather Slides in black
One shoe trend that has definitely convinced me this summer is the chunky mules. They are characterized by a chunky, rather wide look and are mostly black. Would you like some punk in summer? In combination with paper bag pants or voluminous dresses, a cool break in style is created. Incidentally, the classic Birkenstocks also fit this trend perfectly – this year’s designer cooperation with Proenza Schouler, I love is a bit more luxurious.
Shoe trends 2020 : the elegant flip-flops
We owe this shoe trend to Twins Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen from The Row. Your New York fashion label has become one of the most important in the fashion scene! So when the designers presented their elegant flip flops on the runway, it was clear that this was the starting signal for a new trend. While we could already see the good old Hawaianas sandals on the street styles last summer, many brands are now putting one thing on top: The result is luxury toe kickers made from Italian leather. The break in style works – leather flip flops can actually look elegant. How do you feel about the new – and admittedly getting used to – shoe trend?
Shoe trends 2020 : romantic ballerinas
Who would have thought that ballerinas actually made it into our closets as a shoe trend? One of the most controversial shoe trends is the ballet flats, which many call “manrepelling shoes”. Although – if you style the feminine shoes properly, they can also look contemporary. Miu Miu, for example, knows exactly how feminine and stylish fit together. Combine the flats with Bermuda shorts and an unusual blouse. Also exhibited mini skirts and a body or top look beautiful with the ballerinas
Shoe trends 2020 : Braided flat slides
Another summer shoe trend that is one of the absolute must-haves in 2020: filigree and narrow-cut slides, which are often characterized by a braided leather detail. They are the perfect companions for everyday life – because they embellish dresses, skirts or trousers with their unobtrusive but elegant look. The sandals look particularly good in cognac tones. They fit harmoniously with all summer colors and skin tones and, in contrast to the other shoe trends in 2020, are more of a calm counterpart that quietly completes outfits.
The most beautiful summer sneakers
Do you also think that the months just fly by? We are already in the last week of May and summer is just around the corner. Since we have mainly spent the last few months indoors and therefore had no opportunity to do the beautiful spring fashion, hopefully this will be done soon. And because summer in Germany is known to be quite changeable, sneakers are still relevant throughout the coming season. In the warm months, I therefore like to wear light and light summer sneakers in everyday life that go well with dresses or trousers. My styling tips for summer sneakers
The new summer sneakers are characterized by a clean and narrow silhouette, because who wants to wear heavy and chunky shoes in spring and summer? The popular chunky sneakers are therefore reserved for autumn, instead the soles are now thinner and more subtle. In terms of color, the new sneakers are based on current fashion trends. It’s getting light – classic are white or cream-colored sneakers, plus shoes in pastel shades or with individual colored accents.
Summer sneakers also differ from other sneakers when it comes to the material. Canvas, cotton or mesh are particularly comfortable to wear when warm and allow air to pass through. They ensure a casual, relaxed look. Leather sneakers, on the other hand, look a little more elegant. There are no limits when it comes to styling. The shoes look cool, for example, with voluminous midi dresses, but the sporty shoes also go well with everyday culottes or paperbag pants. This creates looks that always contain a casual touch – and in which you are always prepared for long walks or excursions 🙂
