There are two fronts for jeans. One side says that denim is probably the most comfortable material to dress with (best from head to toe). Others counter that in jeans fashion you cannot move as well and unrestrictedly as in other textiles and, moreover, are dressed too casually anyway, for example for a business outfit at home or in the real office. Maybe now both parties will find a common denominator, because the new denim shirts with their chic look and high comfort are the ideal basic for the time in the home office and afterwards.

Simple trick in the home office, in which you usually only present your upper body virtually in video chat anyway: you wear a simple T-shirt, tank top or longsleeve under your denim shirt, and a delicate blouse in a more feminine way. Then the look above is so convincing that you can make yourself comfortable on the chair in leggings or cashmere pants without a guilty conscience. In addition, the new models of denim shirts are made from such soft denim that you will forget at some point that your sweatshirt was ever up for debate.
A good substitute for a jacket or the extra layer when it shivers in the home office is also available from the jeans shirt of the French label Sézane, which is made from raw denim. However, it is not boring because it has sophisticated details such as a quilted look, silver push buttons and a casual oversize cut. In general, jackets or shirt jackets, also known as “shackets”, are a good alternative to the classic transition jacket. The denim fabric is breathable, unlike, for example, real leather or water-repellent PVC, warms as an additional layer and gives the outfit a special nonchalance. The whole thing becomes even more casual when you roll up your shirt sleeves, as shown by American Vintage in its bright model. The denim tone harmonises with fresh colors of spring – like grass green, sun yellow or pink – but also cuts a fine figure on its own. Then there are two styling options for the video call: you wear the shirt buttoned up (but also suggests a little about yourself) or, as shown in the models above, unbuttoned over another blouse.
Denim shirts such as the short-sleeved models by Peter Pilotto and Áeron allow more air to circulate and make it possible to wear the new clothing item until mid-summer. Until that happens and we can enjoy the blue sky in peace again, instead of sadly admiring it from the balcony or window at home, the shirt made of denim is worn out in anticipation of these moments in layering over long-sleeved shirts, blouses or pullovers sheer knit.
