The New Summer Trend Stripper Heels

It was clear to everyone at the latest when the chunky Buffalo Classics revived last year: shoes with a platform sole are trendy. Ugly sneakers, dad sneakers or whatever you want to call them have already found a permanent place on our shoe rack. Now a new (old) trend among fashion girls seems to be starting: plateau heels. Designers like Miu Miu, Prada or Dolce & Gabbana have already equipped their models with platform shoes – sometimes glittering with brooches, sometimes simply with straps, sometimes in flashy bright colors.

Plateau heels were – how could it be otherwise – already an absolute hit in the 1990s. At that time it could not be high enough, which was noticeable in the walk of some girls. Because keeping the balance in the tall things was not always so easy. Top model Naomi Campbell knows that too. Maybe one or the other of you will remember your catwalk fall from 1993, in killer heels by Vivienne Westwood.

But the shoes with plateau heels did not appeal to everyone. For many, the shoes were too sexy and sexy and not infrequently simply too cheap. Sure, plateau heels always have something slightly wicked and exciting about them. But there is another way! Because one thing has to be left with the shoes: they conjure up easily ten centimeters longer legs in the blink of an eye and make a real fashion statement.

The mega trend: platform heels + knee highs

Fashion professionals prefer to style their platform sandals with socks. They can be pulled up to the knee and be slightly transparent. The knee socks immediately make the outfit a little cooler and more casual and take away the sexy stripper look. The combination with the stockings is also particularly ingenious when it is a bit cooler outside, but you still do not want to do without your platform sandals.

Combine plateau heels: these are the no-gos

Attention! High heels with a platform sole can look cheap quickly. To prevent this from happening, you need to be cautious about the rest of your look. Means: Please don’t be too short, too tight or too shrill! It best styles the shoes to simple colors such as black, gray, white or beige. But the high heels also go well with denim. On the other hand, you should rather stay away from wildly patterned pieces or colored styling partners – otherwise your look would quickly become too restless.

Since the focus is clearly on your legs, you should also keep yourself covered as much as possible. A cleavage that is too deep plus a mini skirt and heels quickly scream for a stripper look. High-necked tops or turtlenecks are better – best cut oversize. This loosens up the look and gives it a casual touch. This also applies to accessories: less is more.

If you want to combine the platform heels with knee-highs, you should also choose solid, preferably black pieces. The look is most harmonious when shoes and socks are in the same color. The platform shoes are a bit too much for you, but you are a fan of the knee highs? No problem! The stockings can of course also be styled with “normal” pumps and flat shoes. The trend pieces look best in combination with masculine dandy lace-ups or casual loafers. By the way: Make sure that the knee socks are not too tight and cut into the skin. This can quickly look like sausage.
